This coffee maker was shipped at the speed of light! Major kudos to Amazon for handling this order expeditiously! I don’t know what people are talking about with the plastic taste. I didn’t taste any plastic, because I cleaned the coffee maker with a cycle of white vinegar first. Sure it smelled like plastic initially, but that’s because it’s made of plastic! The first pot of coffee I brewed was absolutely outstanding. The filtration disk does a great job in cleaning the water before it hits the ground coffee. The machine even looks good on my counter! My only complaint is that the clock on front of the machine is not back lit, but all the other features outweigh this issue. My last coffee maker was also a Mr. Coffee brand. I got it my first year of college, and it’s still working just fine, so I trust this one will last long as well. It’s a great coffee maker for a great price!

Great features but the plastic smell ruins it,
The features on this coffee maker are wonderful for the price. I love the fact that you can sneak a cup of coffe mid brew without it dripping all over the hot plate (and it really worked!). They did so many things right like a safety on the delay brew feature that allows you to set up your coffee beforehand, but must be programmed each time in case you forget to set up your coffee for the next brew. It even shuts the coffee maker off after one hour so you don’t burn or crack the pot if you forget. I really wanted this coffee maker to be my long term brew companion, BUT I soon became disillusioned when I noticed a burnt chemical smell with each pot of coffee made. Upon opening the top to throw away the used coffee filter, I was almost overwhelmed by the smell which not only affected the taste of the coffee, but permeated the air throughout the house. It smells like burnt electrical wiring and is very strong. I hate to think what chemicals from the plastic leached into the coffee from the brewing. Needless to say, I’m ending my relationship with this Mr. Coffee.

|Great little pot but if you’re looking for a replacement carafe………,
I’ve had this pot for six weeks. Have had no problem with it. It keeps time well and I don’t get a funny plastic taste at all. Unfortunately I broke the carafe and could not find a replacement. I combed the Internet and finally contacted Mr. Coffee with my problem. They responded with a number which in turn referred me to another number. That number is: 1-800-672-6333. It’s automated but if you’re looking for replacement parts, they will ask you to punch in your ZIP code and they will give you the name of a dealer near you from which you can purchase parts. This will save you an hour or so of trying to run this down. My husband picked up the new carafe for me this afternoon. I’m a happy camper again.

|Burning smell caused return,
I, too, experienced the burning plastic smell, and so the unit will be returned. It’s surprising that a flaw this noticeable makes it past the manufacturer’s quality control.

This is my third 5 cup Mr. Coffee maker. The first two were with the stainless steel pots and this one has the glass. The difference I have discovered is the glass pot pours the water much easier into the coffemaker without spilling lowest price bvmc-sjx33gt plastic. Taste of the brewed coffee is about the same with a little edge to the glass pot. The previous two coffee makers were very good and lasted approximately one year each without any problems until I forgot to put the pot on the burner and the percolating water ruined the heating element, not counting the mess to clean up cheapest bvmc-sjx33gt plastic on sale.The fault was mine both times. I highly recommend the 5 cup machine, and especially like the one hour shut off feature; for us seniors this is a safety aspect and is also an electricity saver. satisfied in south Texas Best price bvmc-sjx33gt plastic.
